ADDING AREA TO A HOME
The Trick: Make visual magic Shiny surfaces reflect light and make an area appear bigger. Think stainless steel,metallic, and high-gloss finishes. Works with dark colors-but make sure they're supershiny and teamed with lighter shades.
If you can't live without curtains, keep them simple. Avoid bulky material or fussy detail. Extend the poles so the curtains lie against the wall when they're open, allowing light to flood in.
Although pale is good, brilliant white isn't always the best option-infact, the result can be cold and clinical, instead, choose off-whites or creams, which have the same light-enhansing qualities but are easier on the eye.
